I had lunch here with my family the day after my wedding before everyone had to leave. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the food was really delicious. The bread was fresh and garlicy, and it was really hard not to eat way too much of it. I had the prime rib lunch. It wasn't the best prime rib I've ever had, but it was definitely the best for the price. If I lived in the area I'd certainly come back often.

The most reasonably priced food in rochester. Everything I've had has been solid and it doesn't cost an arm and leg to go to dinner here.

This place for steak is awesome for a special night out. Steak was cooked just right and juicy and they give you good portions. As they should for the price but must say i will for sure be back for some of there steak.

So we decided to give this establishment another try not once but twice. We dined in for the first time and my husband and I ordered the same thing....the burger again. Why we don't try something else is beyond me. It was fine. Service was fair and the place was clean. The following week we ordered the burger again for carry out. On the positive side, it was cooked to the temperature we asked but it was missing flavor and they didn't give us any condiments for the burgers. Meh!

Great food, great people, great prices. We come here often, and always try to get something different. All have been super.

Had lunch at Lucky's today. Food was good. Service was awful and it takes a lot for me to find service lacking. Our waitress obviously did not think she should have been assigned our table and it showed. When we sat down at about 12:30PM on a Saturday we were handed breakfast menus and when we asked to see the lunch menu one (there were 4 of us) was literally tossed on the table. When the food was served we had to ask to have napkins and silverware. Not a pleasant experience all in all. Did not feel comfortable to sit and chat any longer than it took to eat. Will not be returning there any time soon.

Typical Americana. You get what you pay for. If you are looking for inexpensive steak with massive portions then this is the place for you. I would rather pay $5 more per plate and get better quality with smaller portions.

It is us who are lucky to have Lucky's in our back yard. They have good food at a very reasonable price. Their staff is also very friendly - great service. They have several good salads and soups. I really enjoyed the french onion soup and wedge salad. Their steaks are very good quality - but personally I think the best dish on the menu is Salmon New Orleans! It is a dish that will keep you coming back for more! In fact I shouldn't be telling you about it - it is that good. So yes - give them a try. Did I mention how good the Salmon New Orleans is?!

Great place. Been there many times with friends and family and never disappointed The place is always busy but the service has always been very good. The steaks and fish are fantastic and the prices are so reasonable. So much quality and so much food for so little money.

Remodeled (old Sero's). Same good breakfast. Dinner has white table clothes, good short ribs, nice bar area. Good prices for the amount of food. Good bread with meals.

I came here for a belated Mother's Day brunch with my mom and sister. We picked it due to the location and the rating. However, I was surprised when I got there that they have a 4 start rating. The restaurant seemed slightly dirty, but it is a family diner, so I didn't think much about it. Our server took a while to come to our table and seemed a little flighty. I was not reassured when she brought out my coffee in a mug with a large hot pink lipstick stain on it. It appeared as if it had not been washed at all. On the plus side, our food was really good (we had the Mexican skillet, a burger and crab cakes with shrimp) and the portions and price were very reasonable. However, I think they need to do more training of the staff and pay more attention to cleanliness.

We headed out to brunch this passed Saturday.....cuz we're cool like that... All of us (well most) were eyeing the Benedicts....One had the steak medallion Benedict, another had the Florentine...I had the crab cake Benedict...we had them served with some of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had! The service was great... The food was really good, wonderfully presented...and the warm bread they serve you is a delight... And we left there with a twinkle in our eyes.... We quite enjoyed ourselves~ :)

We have passed by this place a hundred times but never been in until this evening. I read some reviews and decided we'd give it a try. So glad we did! Friendly service, ice cold beer and fast service. I had the Bacon and Cheddar burger and it was delicious. Big burger, with a nice pile of thick cut fries that were perfect. My wife had the French Dip and gave it a 9 out of 10. The bread to start the meal was REALLY good as well! 1 beer, 1 Cosmopolitan and 2 big sandwiches for under $30. Can't beat it. We will be back!

Lackluster performance of the kitchen killed this place for me. Over cooked lobster, shrimp. Undercooked steak, baked potato. Lemon butter caper sauce on the walleye had so much garlic in it that it burns the mouth. The only thing that kept this review from receiving 1 star was the great server we had. But for the price of the meals thiers no way this establishmnet will get a second chance.

Food here is really good, only been here 2 times and both times food it's been quick and lots of it. Depending on time you go you can be seated right away, or if there's a wait you always have the bar with great drinks to enjoy.

We live practically across the street from Lucky's. It is our favorite restraunt. The staff always remembers us. The food is great. Steaks are always cooked to order are hot and juicy. My favorite meal is the Grouper dinner or the same size fillet at lunch for only$8:00 but is served on a hoggy roll. Lucky's is where we take guest and they are never disappointed.

  • Theresa T.

Just had the worst stuffed mushrooms. I informed the server that the seafood stuffing had imitation crab. He told the management who came over to inform me I was not correct and it was real crab. Sorry, I ain't buying that line.

Terrific night out. We went to Lucky's for the first time Thursday, August 6,2015. It was only about 5:45 when we got there so not too crowded. We started with stuffed mushrooms, oh sooo good. That was followed by a Caesar Salad (you also have a choice of a house salad or a cup of soup). We both had Prime Rib the 12oz cut. Delicious!! Perfectly cooked. Mine medium rare, hubby,s medium. We both received more than 12 oz.in our eyes. It was so very good. Also dinner comes with a loaf of bread nice and hot; Monica, our server was excellent. She really knows the menu and can answer all your questions. We really enjoyed ourselves. However, if you are going on a Friday or Saturday, plan on getting there early or waiting, because Lucky's Prime is so good they are packed. They have excellent fish dishes as well. Plan on going to Lucky's soon and ask for Monica.

We were very happy with the wait staff. All of the courses were timed perfectly. And, the prices are great. I had the 16oz Delmonico. My wife had prime rib. The steak was done to perfection. However, the steak was not prime. I saw no marbling and it was tasteless. Not by far a great steak. My wife sent the prime rib back Too tough to cut with the supplied steak knife. She opted for the Chilean Bass. We may go there for breakfast, but never for steak or prime rib. This is not anything like the steak houses I know.

What a disappointment. I usually visit the Lucky's Steakhouse in Imlay City, man this location does not compare. Every single thing we ordered was bad. Prices are high for what you get and wait is surprisingly long. I don't understand how anyone would ever return a second time. There are just too many places in this area that are much better. Server is good and entertaining.

Finally I no longer need to drive to Imlay City~ Took a pal here for his retirement lunch on Monday 10-27-14, Jamie was our very outgoing server a.k.a. Miss Hospitality We ordered the 16 ounce ribeye with Gorgonzola cheese, grilled mushrooms & onions for $19 plus it came with a loaded baked potato, a crock of french onion soup & a large loaf of Lucky's famous bread. The soups came out very pronto, as did the medium rare steak! Tender Moist Cooked perfectly More than generous amounts of cheese, mushrooms & onions

Great service! Great food! Great Price! I wish I found this place along time ago. It would of saved me a lot of money, cause the steaks here stand up against some of the top more expensive places. So glad I found this place. It's a great place to go to when you want a good meal with the family. I can't wait to try the brunch here.

I love the bad reviews at Lucky's. We eat her 2-5 times a month. Every meal has been great. Service is always great. Prices, portions and quality are always great. More bad reviews mean a to me, a shorter wait to be seated!

  • Nik H.

I finally made it out to this place and after many drive bys and good review reads, I don't understand what the hype is about. I get that the prices are cheap but the food was nothing special as a matter of fact; it was barely average. We ordered quite a variety but The quality wasn't there. Service was ok at best but the place was pretty dirty but all places can have an off day. I doubt I'll ever go back to Lucky's, I'd rather pay more somewhere else for a better experience. The peeps who gave this place rave reviews need to raise the bar just a little.

This place is so good! The wait staff is quick and attentive you get a good portion for your money and it is cooked to perfection! What more can you ask for!!!! Will be returning!

Got a 16oz ribeye and lobster tail for $28. Both were cooked perfectly. Husband got prime rib, in his words, "buttery". I thought it was pretty good too. Decor is pretty unassuming, very casual atmosphere. Restaurant was packed, but no wait for us on a Friday night. Steaks were a great value for the price, other menu items were reasonably priced too.

The place is clean and the staff very friendly. The foods are well prepared as well. We brought a group of about a dozen friends for a brunch meeting a day before Mother's Day. They handled the event extremely well. After brunch, we walked on the nearby scenic Paint Creek for an hour, then wrapped up the day by stopping for a few beers at the Rochester Papa Joe gourmet supermarket. What a way to spend a day!

Good company, good price large portions but a little too salty for my liking!! Crazy busy no reservations available ... Too Loud, dimmed lighting unable to see food!!! Was tired, hungry but with an excellent crowd!!!

Forgot to check in last night but did not want to neglect the review. I've eaten at the Luckys in Fenton area twice and thought I'd try the Rochester location. There were six of us and we phoned ahead since they do not take reservations. Even with that we still had an hour and fifteen minute wait. But...once again totally worth it. Perfectly cooked filets all around and great service from Anastassia. Other restaurants can't touch this place for quality and price and it's no wonder that it's packed so often. I don't know if the owner ever reads these but if so I would love to shadow them for a day and learn their business philosophy.

My husband, his mother and I went here tonight around 6 and had a delicious, inexpensive, pleasant and fast meal. It was great! It's not a fancy, elegant place, but it's clean and nice. We were seated immediately even though the place was packed. Just good timing, I guess. Our server, Sheree I think, was young but really good! Just funny enough to be comfortable but professional. We had Lucky's Prime Time, Salmon New Orleans, and the Filet Medallions and all were large portions of yummy food, delivered hot and just as we finished our salads. We were out of there in about 1 1/4 hours without feeling rushed at all. Will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. I'm giving it five stars because I can't find any fault with any of it - I knew the place used to be a Greek diner-type restaurant so I wasn't expecting it to be old-school elegant, our experience was pleasant from start to finish, and the food was great. Just don't expect mood lighting and white tablecloths!

For the price you can not do better locally. There were four of us and we each had a different cut of steak. They were all prepared perfectly. Sides were delicious, sauces prepared perfectly, and service was attentive and friendly. This was my first time here and I'll be going back many times in the future. The loaf of bread that they bring at the beginning of service is better than the one served at Kruse and Meur.

Rob E.'s review of Lucky's is right on. I'm also not sure how this place is going to fare in Rochester area. Being a block from our home, it was time to visit Lucky's Prime Time. Even though the lights were lower and there was new paint on the walls, I sfelt like I was in a dressed up coney island. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were huge. I ordered the grouper fish taco "appetizer". There was nothing appetizer about two huge fish tacos with a side of rice pilaf. I think they just ran out of room on the regular menu. The grouper was tasty! The rest of the taco was filled with under ripe tomato pico and large slices of cabbage. The server was good, but not great. She definitely had the 'my mom made me get a job, so here I am' attitude. Besides being fairly inexpensive, there really isn't anything special here. Sorry Lucky's.

We had our first experience at Lucky's last night and we will definitely be going back! The service was fast and friendly and the food was amazing. It's hard to find a restaurant that cooks your steak perfectly! The atmosphere is casual, but intimate. Make sure you go with an appetite! The prices are amazing as well.

First time writing a review of a restaurant. Had a salad and aged prime rib. The croutons in the salad were like little rocks and the onions were extremely strong. The prime rib wasn't as rare as I like and it was very tough. First and last time there for me. Our waitress got a bit snippy with one of the women in our group when asked a question. Wouldn't return even if free.

Favorite place to go. yum- yum-yum. Great food and great service!! When they first opened up the carry outs were not done correctly. We had mistake after mistake. Now I believe a manager takes all carry out orders. In the past 2 months there have been no mistakes. For the price you get an AMAZING amount of food. They pack/wrap the carry outs well so your food does not get cold. Dine in: it is very nice in there. The service is always 5 stars. I like that they re did it after Sero's and made it a little more up scale. I would recommend the Chicken Chardonnay or the Maryland chicken. I loved their side salads and they have amazing desserts. I have heard great things about their burgers and the meat they use. I usually eat there once a week and if I ever have a family get together, this is where I am going. They have booths and tables to accommodate bigger parties.

Ok, I've been to this place twice now and am ready to give a review. I'm usually a pretty picky diner since having worked in restaurants for years. Went here for lunch and had the fish tacos. They were tasty, generous and decent priced. Came back for dinner a few weeks later and had the stuffed grouper. It was fantastic! I also tasted the Sea Bass and pork chop both were also very good. Initially I had low expectations since it used to be Seros and was looking old in the tooth. However this reincarnation is a fresh remake and on the right track. I was told it is the same owner so they must have watched one of those tv shows on how to reinvigorate a restaurant. Anyway, I have conflicting interest in giving high praise so I won't have to fight crowds getting in here but I think I'm too late. Word has gotten out and it's usually pretty packed. It reminds me of a Kruse and Muer and has a similar formula. However it improves on that formula with better prices and portions.

Adequate...it will be interesting how this place fares in the Rochester area. I am familiar with Lucky's in Davison and Lapeer, but had never eaten there. The customer in the Rochester area may be a bit more critical due to variety and quality of restaurants here. First time ever eating at Prime Time or any of their restaurants was last Friday. Brief wait about 20 minutes from 6:20 PM. Place still looks like Sero's. Sat down, ordered drinks - I liked Lucky's Red Ale, curious who is brewing it for them, tasted like a great amber home brew. Spouse had glass of wife and friends had Cokes. Appetizer of stuffed mushrooms - crazy good (apparently same crab meat stuffing used in grouper with lobster cream sauce). I ordered the Prime Time special (prime rib smothered with sauteed onions and mushrooms covered in Monterrey jack cheese) rare, spouse ordered burger. Friends both ordered grouper. Prime Time was smothered in cheese...I did not realize it would look like a cafeteria school lunch, so I scraped the craziness off it and it was rather delish. Spouse loved her burger, friends loved their fish. I did get the creamed spinach as a side - YUM. Spouse did get the German potatoes (fried cubed potatoes, chunks of bacon, onions, chives). Waiter had too many tables, but he rocked and was very good despite being busy. Homeboy deserved a good tip. Friend had a concern with the dish and the response was great from the waiter. So, place is VERY affordable for this area. Atmosphere is essentially that of a coney island with an attempt to step it up a notch. Food was tasty and service was slow but awesome. Will I return? Perhaps with an invite...too many other awesome places in the area to compete with.

I've been in once for lunch and once for dinner, so I can't speak to the breakfast/brunch service. As far as food goes, this place knocks it out of the park. Everything is fantastic and so moderately priced (especially for Rochester). Between myself and my co-diners, we have tried the crab cakes, fish and chips, Maryland chicken, tenderloin and portobello special, and the pecan encrusted chicken salad. The crab cakes are awesome, definitely house made and served with a delicious lobster cream sauce. Same is used as stuffing for Maryland chicken and looks like the stuffed mushrooms, too. They serve awesome loaves of garlicky bread (a la kruse and muer, but gooder - really) and they really know how to do sauces. Lobster cream sauce, their ranch, raspberry vinaigrette, and tartar are all house made and all awesome. The decor is a little mismatched and severs we have had are slow and inattentive. If the floor manager could take a hint from the way the kitchen runs, this place would be perfect. Worth a visit for sure!

Writing this review for my parents. They thought it was a good meal for the price and were quite happy with the prime ribs they got for what they paid. Keep it simple and serve well and this place should do just fine!

Life threatening food and not cooked to order. Ordered a carry out prime rib mid rare. Received well done and crab shells found in stuffed shrimp. My friend almost choked to death. Thank God someone knew how to expell the shell. Also the owner, infamously known as Lucky refused to right the wrong.

We had visited Sero's when it was Sero's and swore we'd never go back. Glad we gave it a chance now that it's Lucky's...atmosphere is still very casual and i wouldn't take a group... But for a reasonably priced meal it's a great place! I had blackened mahi with crispy shrimp and it was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. My wedge salad and german potatoes were yummy as well and they have a decent beer selection. The only reason it's not a five star (yet?) is that my husband's prime rib was a tad overdone and maybe a little fatty though he said it was still good. Great selection on the menu and we loved the fact that they had real gravy for his garlic mashed potatoes. We will definitely go back!

Lucky's is new, in where Sero's used to be on Walton just west of Livernois. I may try it again in six months or so, but it is not ready for prime time yet. The menu is nice and the prices decent. They had enough help there to operate. They brought a nice hot loaf of garlicky bread and butter. It was really good. It went down hill from there sorry to say. My wife had chicken Marsala and baked potato. I had the stuffed Grouper with creamed spinach and rice. My clam chowder and her side salad were acceptable. But the main dishes all came out luke warm. It wasn't our server's fault. The spinach wasn't hot enough to melt the shredded cheese on top - so it had never been hot even back in the kitchen. We sent both back and they came right back the same. It took two tries to get them hot enough I'd eat them. With fish and sauces we are talking about being scared of them not just displeased. There is potential here, but they have to get it right soon before bad word of mouth sinks them. I will say they are a steak house - some would say why do you order fish at a steak house? I'd say why is it on the menu if you can't cook it?

  • Arnold A.

Took my wife here for dinner on Saturday night. I got the Prime Rib and Potato Soup. My wife got a steak and a salad. My prime rib was perfect, good flavor, and served timely. The potato soup and bread are awesome. My wife's steak was also cooked perfectly with great flavor. For the price this is a hard place to beat and I can't make a single complaint. They have the feel of a high end restaurant shoved into a Logan's steak house building. Much better then a any chain steak house.

Upon arrival, we had quite a long wait. There's really not a lot of places to stand or sit while waiting, so the area was quite crowded. That aside, once we were seated, I have to say service was mediocre at best. I ordered crab and shrimp stuffed grouper. Here is where my experience turned sour. I was absolutely appalled when I began to eat my meal and the crab and shrimp stuffing was made with IMITATION crab! Are you kidding me?! The menu boasts that the dish is made with crab, not imitation crab. I can't believe that any restaurant would think that substituting a fake crab product while charging the customer for real crab is okay. I asked the server why would the restaurant serve imitation crab and not tell the customer? She, who never had the dish, insisted that it was not imitation. This is wrong for so many reasons. What if a person is allergic to imitation crab? What then: talk about being hoodwinked. I've eaten at the Lucky's in Imlay City countless times. I've never had a bad meal there. Hence, why I am incredibly disappointed with the Lucky's in Rochester.

First time eating there, good dining experience. Had to wait maybe 20 minutes, once we were seated we were waited on by a very nice girl, who did a very good job of serving us. The food was out pretty quick, cooked as ordered, what's to complain about, nothing. The restaurant itself is comfortable, nicely decorated. Definitely will go in the restaurant rotation.

Having eaten at the Imlay City Lucky's I had high hopes for this one when my cousin told me it had opened. They did not disappoint. We went for lunch and I opted to try their Prime Time Sandwich. It was described as a 10 oz prime rib sandwich with sauteed onions and mushrooms with cheese on their House bread. (close as I can remember) I was expecting a thinly sliced pieces of prime rib like a cheesesteak. WRONG! I received a very generous slab of prime rib served as a open sandwich with plenty of onions, mushrooms and cheese. It was delicious! I also opted for their steak cut onion rings instead of fries. They brought me a huge stack which I had to share. I will be ordering this again! The other two in my party had the grilled salmon and the steakhouse salad. Between us all the only complaint was the steakhouse salad used all iceberg lettuce for its greens. Need to change that Luckys. The meat melted in her mouth though so you were excused this time. The only other tip I would give them is to open more Lucky's!!! Oh and the sandwich was under $10!!!! I would of spent almost twice that elsewhere for the amount of Prime Rib I received!

Surprisingly, delicious. Didn't expect much when we arrived, I pictured it to look just like Sero's still as one review stated. This was not the case. Nice family ambiance, decor is simple and tasteful. The food... Amazing. I think they stole kruse and meurs bread recipe! Bonus! I had chicken Chardonnay which was divine. Hubby had a sirloin, which was OK (he eats his meat med well so it's just awful regardless of where) his German potatoes were delish! Luckys ale on draft was quite good also. Good service. $45 with tip out the door (we always tip 20%). Not bad! We will be back!

Great food and great service!!! This was our fourth trip to lucky's Prime time. My wife and I started off with the stuffed mushrooms. I highly recommend this appetizer. It has changed a little over the last few trips, but seems to get better. It has larger pieces of crab and shrimp. The sauce is a nice addition. ( ask for a little extra). We both ordered the surf and turf. The filet was cooked to perfect temperature and the lobster was very good. Olivia, our server, did a fabulous job taking care of us. She answered any question we had and was very nice. The best thing was the value!!! We had an appitizer, Fresh warm bread, two steak and lobster meals, and a nice bottle of wine for $80. I will be back again to Lucky's.

I really love lucky's, I was skeptical at first if this place was going to have the same food and quality as the original ones, and I was pleasantly surprised... Bread; perfect, steaks; perfect, service; top notch... Please Take this as a compliment, because it truly is... Lucky's doesn't have the best steak you have ever had... But they have THE BEST 12$ steak you have ever had. My opinion; Mac and cheese is the best side! A couple can eat like kings for 28$

Lucky's has a nice atmosphere and a pleasant staff. I ordered their special Prime Rib and wife had the Grouper stuffed with crab meat. Apparently the salad chef had taken off for the evening so we did not receive the Ceaser that the wife ordered nor the coleslaw that game with my steak. The portions are very generous for what we ordered. My prime rib was supposed to be medium rare. It was well seasoned and smothered with cheese, grilled onions and sautéed mushrooms. The covering was not very good or necessary. Unfortunately my steak seemed very over cooked. I've never seen a prime rib gray in areas. We were in pretty late and near closing time so I wondered if they microwaved it to melt the cheese. The garlic mashed potatoes that I had with the steak were very good but not good enough to make up for the poor prime rib. Wife's grouper was good but she claimed it was salted heavily. We did not stay for dessert. When we informed the waitress that we didn't receive our salads she did offer to box them for us. The staff overall was very good and very friendly. We were with our 2 year old and they were very attentive to him and made him very comfortable. Wish the food matched the service.

I was honestly very surprised that the food was good. The Cobb salad was amazing. They have awesome potato soup as well! I will be back here. Wish my girlfriend would like it as much as I do :-(

Outstanding food plenty of it! The Maryland chicken is my favorite never had anything like it anywhere. Service was fast and efficient

Food was pretty good, overall. The place was packed on a Friday night after work. The locals know a good thing when they see it. Prices very reasonable!
